Accuracy and sourcing

We check important claims against government records, original documents or the people involved. Current-information pages show when their sources were last checked.

Clear development status

Proposed, lodged, approved, under construction and completed describe different stages. We do not present an application as an approval or an approval as evidence that construction has started.

Independence

Advertising and sponsorship are kept separate from editorial decisions. Paid placements are clearly identified.

Corrections

Material errors are corrected openly. The correction explains what changed and when.
