The procurement has narrowed
The state has shortlisted two consortiums to prepare detailed proposals for the Gabba entertainment and housing precinct. Geotechnical drilling is also under way across the project area to test ground conditions before a final design is chosen.
What has not been decided
A shortlist is not a winning bid and the published material does not amount to a final design approval. The next meaningful milestone is the assessment of detailed proposals, including how each responds to housing, transport, public space and event-day access.
